TLN Media Group Announces Canadian Theatrical Premiere of Original Production Tendenza: The Modernization of the Italian-Canadian Textile Industry

TLN Media Group Announces Canadian Theatrical Premiere of Original Production

Tendenza: The Modernization of the Italian-Canadian Textile Industry

NOW PLAYING AT THE GUZZO CINEMAS IN QUEBEC

(Toronto, ON) July 22, 2020 – TLN Media Group (TMG), Canada’s leading multilingual media company, proudly announces the Canadian theatrical premiere of TMG original production, Tendenza: La Modernizzazione dell’ industria tessile Italo-Canadese (Tendenza: The Modernization of the Italian-Canadian Textile Industry) on Friday, July 24 at all Guzzo Cinema locations in Quebec.

There was a time when the label “Made in Italy” meant a product had been branded for greatness – a stamp of approval confirming it was made by skilled hands with the best materials. Today, through modernization of global markets, this “stamp” has lost its lustre.

Produced by Montreal native Anthony Sarracco of Rebellion Films, Tendenza explores the Canadian textile industry from the perspective of Canada’s most notable Italian designers: denim mogul Salvatore Parasuco, internationally renowned designer Carmine Lauro and suit-maker Denis Limonsani of Bosco Uomo. Immigrating to Canada in the 1950’s and 60’s in search of new opportunities, each designer is faced with continuing their craft and preserving their legacy in the years to come. Tendenza delves into the hardships and successes of each family and brand and how these creative pioneers are adapting to an ever-changing business market in the midst of globalization.

As a leader in supporting and developing Canadian multicultural content, TLN Media Group produces and commissions hundreds of unique and culturally significant ‘Made in Canada’ original productions each year. TMG is proud to support Canadian artists in their endeavour to share immigrant stories and experiences with audiences across the country.

TLN Media Group Presents Original Documentary Feature: The Invisible Men (Los Hombres Invisibles)

TLN Media Group Presents Original Documentary Feature:

The Invisible Men (Los Hombres Invisibles)

Giving a voice to migrant workers – one of Canada`s most vulnerable communities

(Toronto, ON) July 15, 2020 – During COVID-19, the plight of migrant workers is once again front and center. TLN Media Group (TMG), Canada’s most influential multilingual media company is broadcasting its original documentary production The Invisible Men (Los Hombres Invisibles) on Sunday, July 19 on TLN Television at 6pm/et and Univision Canada at 10pm/et.

With the Canadian food system reeling from widespread COVID-19 outbreaks among Ontario farms, The Invisible Men shines a light on an industry that is otherwise overlooked and gives a voice to one of Canada’s most vulnerable communities: migrant workers. With the majority arriving from Mexico, it examines the challenges and personal journeys of Canada’s “invisible men”.

In a recent Globe and Mail investigation, migrant farm workers in southern Ontario have not been adequately tested for COVID-19, putting their lives at risk in controversial living and working conditions as well as putting Canada’s food system in jeopardy during a critical harvest season.

As a leader in supporting and developing Canadian multiculturalism, TLN Media Group produces and commissions hundreds of culturally significant programs each year with an extensive catalogue of original titles in English, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Tagalog. Its original productions tell unique stories of Canada’s diverse citizens, history and the future of Canadian multiculturalism in the wake of globalization.

The original documentary is also complemented by English and Spanish language websites, featuring exclusive online content, bonus interviews, archival photographs and videos.

TLN Media Group Launches Annual Elder Abuse Prevention Campaign

TLN Media Group Launches Annual Elder Abuse Prevention Campaign

National Multilingual Public Service Announcements on TV and Digital

(Toronto, Ontario) July 6, 2020 – Now more than ever, seniors are in need of our support. Today TLN Media Group (TMG), Canada’s most influential multilingual media company, announced the launch of its annual month-long Elder Abuse Prevention Public Service Announcement.

TLN Media Group has produced three 30-second PSA messages in English, Spanish and Italian respectively. This multilingual and national campaign will be broadcast across the network`s family of TV channels including: TLN TV, Univision Canada and Mediaset Italia Canada, as well as the its digital platforms.

TLN Media Group is dedicated to the wellbeing of seniors across Canada and continues to serve the senior community with its accessible multilingual programming and community segment coverage. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, TMG has produced and broadcast over 200 daily community segments, many of them intended for senior audiences, in an effort to keep them safe, informed and engaged during this national health emergency.

One in five Canadians knows a senior who might be experiencing some form of abuse, according to Employment and Social Development Canada. Seniors from all walks of life are vulnerable to elder abuse and it is happening nationwide. Most cases are unreported due to fear, social stigma and the desire to protect the family member who is hurting the senior.

It is imperative everyone, including seniors, have access to helpful information to make informed decisions. As a media leader and member of ethnic communities for over 35 years, TLN Media Group recognizes it is especially critical to reach out to immigrant Canadians in non-official languages with important societal messages like this.

Join TMG in helping to protect our seniors. If you or someone you know is experiencing some form of abuse, report it by calling your local law enforcement or agency.
