Borja Valero: Career & Statistics
37-year-old Valero played for Italian sides Inter and Fiorentina during his professional playing career. He made 100 senior appearances for the Nerazzurri from 2017/18 to 2019/20 and 233 senior appearances for the Viola from 2012/13 to 2020/21.
The Spaniard always had space and time and dictated the tempo and direction of the game. In nine Serie A seasons, he quietly built a reputation as a smooth passer and elite facilitator; in total, Valero made 268 appearances in Serie A. During his career, the central midfielder also played for Real Madrid, RCD Mallorca, West Bromwich Albion, and Villarreal.
Although Valero retired from professional football in 2021, he can not stop playing. He joined Centro Storico Lebowski, a sixth-tier team in Florence, with a real community spirit – it is owned and run by the fans.
