Sofyan Amrabat: Career & Statistics
25-year-old Amrabat currently plays for Serie A side Fiorentina. So far this season, the Moroccan has made 21 appearances in all competitions (691 minutes played) for the Viola, scoring one goal.
For Muslim players, the holy month of Ramadan – which started on 1 April 2022 and lasts until 1 May 2022 – comes at a difficult time as the campaign comes to a conclusion. Followers of Islam do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset, and that could impact their game. However, Amrabat seems unaffected and is flourishing under Vincenzo Italiano during this period; the midfielder has been one of Fiorentina’s best performers as of late.
Growing up in the Netherlands, Amrabat played for FC Utrecht and Feyenoord before moving to Belgium to sign for Club Brugge. That then led to his transfer to Hellas Verona three seasons ago, and his performances attracted the interest of several clubs. However, in the end, it was the Viola that won the race for him.
Amrabat is also a Morocco international, having secured 34 caps with the senior team since his debut on 28 March 2017.
